Perception of Mothers on Factors Contributing to Puerperal Sepsis in Selected Government Hospital in Lagos State

Puerperal sepsis is a bacterial infection of the genitourinary tract that occurs after delivery or miscarriage. In particular Lagos State government hospital, study examined how mothers felt about causes puerperal sepsis. Structured questionnaires were used to gather data for cross-sectional design study. The mothers' questionnaires, numbering 210 altogether, collected and analysed with SPSS 22.0. Results indicated whereas 42.4% women had high awareness sepsis, 59.0% unaware it. Sixty-three percent respondents also identified low levels education, ignorance, living in rural areas as important reasons. addition, 89% found manner birth was factor, 87.1% infrequent antenatal clinic attendance factor. Low immunity cited by 64.3% respondents, 96% location contributor All p-values tests correlation between two sets variables (factors perception) significantly lower than 0.05.
